Message from the Chairman

I feel greatly honoured by interacting with the Orthopaedic fraternity all over the world through this message for Pak Orthoocon 2009. We have decided to hold it in the most pleasant month of November. City of Lahore is unmatched for its variety of colours on its canvas. It is one of the oldest cities of the world. It is drenched in the fragrance of love, hospitality and suphi-ism. Great relics of history including Moghal dynasty are etched on its forehead. Lahori cuisine and

famous traditional outlets are a luxury and a memorabilia. It is ornamented with many famous educational institutions. Some are the oldest in the subcontinent.

I am keen to welcome my colleagues from the country and abroad in this cool atmosphere and I hope that deliberations during this conference will go a long way in enlightening us all in various aspects of our speciality.

Anything I would like to emphasize on this occasion, as regards future development in this country, is establishment of state of the art trauma intuitions / disaster management centers in the country. As a community we should strive to improve these services as they are relevant to the poor teeming millions of this country.
